This is a fantastic opportunity for an outcome driven individual with outstanding people skills.  

The Events and Game Day Experience Manager will drive the SANFL event growth and best in class game day experience strategy.  Working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, this role will drive innovative and creative event concepts that positions SANFL as industry leaders in sports events and entertainment.

 Reporting to the Head of Brand, Marketing and Partnerships, this role will lead our Events and Game Day team to execute the strategy.  Through driving cross team collaboration, the role will lead the building of organisational capacity and capability in event delivery and fan experience..  Key focus areas include:

  • Strategic planning, including the development of the event growth strategy
  • Drive the event best practice strategies including resource suite
  • Working closely with the marketing team for campaign collaboration
  • Drive the delivery of best in class game day experiences
  • Build strong collaborative relationships with SANFL Clubs and key stakeholders
  • Build organisation capacity and capability to be an industry leader in events and fan engagement

Here's a snapshot SANFL's event and game day experience framework:

  • Key stakeholder in SA major events
  • Close to 50 events delivered annually with up to 600,000 attendees
  • Major partners including Channel 7, Newscorp, all radio networks, with SANFL's exposure statewide and nationally
  • Working closely with Government stakeholders including SATC, DPC, ORSR, and LG's across SA
  • Supporting relationships with significant international and nationally recognised brands. 

ABOUT YOU

You will be a dynamic and passionate leader with demonstrated experience in leadership and delivery of major events. To thrive in this role, you will have experience in development and execution of strategic frameworks underpinned by excellent communication skills, people leadership, creative and innovation thinking, and success in increasing organisation capability in your field. 

Your success in the role will be underpinned by the following:

  • Significant experience in the events industry with a degree qualification in marketing or related discipline
  • A strategic and innovation mindset  
  • Self-motivated with a focus on delivering agreed outcomes that support the overall business strategy
  • Highly developed and effective relationship management and consultation skills.
  • You will be required to hold and maintain a current DHS Working with Children Check
